What Is Green Investing: How It Works
When you make an environmentally responsible investment, you act with both your principles and pocketbook in mind.
That's why non-profit environmental advocacy organizations founded the
Green Century Funds (the "Funds") in 1991. The Funds offer people a way
to invest for their own future without sacrificing their environmental
principles. After all, why invest in companies that pollute and
threaten the earth when you can invest in environmentally responsible
companies instead?
The Green Century Funds employ a three-part strategy to green investing:

- Invest in companies we believe are leading the way toward a greener future;
- Avoid investing in companies that do not meet GCCM's environmental criteria;
- Use shareholder advocacy to attempt to influence corporate behavior.
