The Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) is the preeminent entity for setting industry-specific standards regarding sustainability practices and reporting, creating benchmarks for industry progress and sustainability targets across 79 industries and 11 sectors of the global economy.

In 2017, SASB announced an initiative to update its standards through input from business and investors to reflect the ever-changing industry landscape.
