Green bonds are a way to raise capital to support climate change mitigation and other green projects. Green Century was an early supporter of green bonds, and today, green bonds make up more than 62% of the bonds held by the Green Century Balanced Fund.

Rapid bus transit, which will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution, is one project supported a green bond held in the Balanced Fund.

Increased interest has led to dramatic growth in the green bond market. But how are investors to know what makes a green bond “green”?
